1st Springwood Scout Group

1st Springwood Scout Group has a long history in the community.

First registered on the 6th of June 1917 with some well known families of the time. The scouts met in school halls, and other places until finally being established in the heart of Springwood. In 1994 the hall burned down and 12 years of fundraising and commitment of its members and families the hall has been rebuilt and opened on Sir Henrys Pde Faulconbridge.

The group has four sections catering for youth from the age of 6 up to 18. Starting with Joeys 6-8 years old, Cubs 7 ½ - 12 years old, Scouts 11 - 15 year old, and Venturers 14-18 years old. There is some overlap of ages to cater for the maturity of the various youth.

We encourage youth members to learn about both indoor and outdoor activities, from abseiling and camping to science and literature.

Scouting is a dynamic and enjoyable self-development, educational program that can involve the whole family. It offers a variety of challenging adventures based on personal achievement, teamwork and leadership.
